Beginners Dance Class 6:30 pm, no experience needed.
Everyone is welcome.
Hi There
Last year, I set myself a challenge to share the joy dance brings me with others by starting my own business.
My aim, to inspire people to feel good about themselves, to improve mental well-being and fitness, and encourage happiness in others.
I am proud to say that January 2026 marks one year in business.
To celebrate, I am throwing a Latin Fiesta, with a beginner's dance class at 6:30 pm, social dancing until 9:30 pm, with supper provided.
If you are looking for a fun night out, a chance to try something new, head on down to the Raglan Town Hall this Friday.
I would love to see you there.
Over 30 years experience in Dancing
Founded in 2025, Dance Inspired was created by Roanna as a way to inspire others to connect with music and each other through the universal language that is dance. Dance is a conversation between you, the music, and your partner.
Roanna has danced since she was old enough to join the local ballet school and hasn't stopped since. It is fair to say she caught the dancing bug early!
Training in multiple styles and competing in events. she has taught kids and adults in social dancing and taken performance teams to the New Zealand Salsa Congress and The Bay Salsa Festival.
From choreographing wedding dances, to designing and sewing team costumes (sometimes rhinestoning up to curtain call), dancing is who she is and what she does.
FAQs
I am new to dancing, where do I start?
Hi there, Good on you for giving something new a go! Taking that first step is the hardest. Why not try one of our beginner classes or a private lesson?
Can I come by myself?
YES! Absolutely. Most people come by themselves. Dancing is a great way to meet others.
No partners are required for any of the classes. Dance Fitness Classes involve solo exercise. In Dance classes where partner-work is taught, the classes are rotational. This means we rotate partners during the class so you get to dance with everyone else in the class.
What should I wear?
Wear lightweight clothing you can move easily in, e.g., not skinny jeans. Wear shoes you can balance well in that have little grip. Stilettos, sneakers, wedges, and boots are not recommended. It is a good idea to bring a warm layer for after the class. Ladies if you wear dancing heels please remember your heel caps. We have them for sale if needed.
I am bit older, can I still learn to dance?
Yes! Dance is for everyone. We can all move to music in our own way, and at our pace. Learning to dance is a great way to keep the mind and body active. Our beginner classes are a great place to start.
How fit do I need to be?
Dancing is a great form of fitness. All beginner classes and easy fitness classes require a basic level of fitness.
Dance fitness classes for retired folks can be done seated, standing, or a combination of both.
If you have had a period of illness or have mobility issues please consult your medical professional before attempting any exercise.
